It’s A Masterpiece For Readers

My grandfather would say that history is always repeating itself, and this book is a fine example. Even in the 24th century, when there is all that sophisticated AI, humans are still struggling with greed and frontier issues, as in the old times. I loved the “detective” vibe of investigating the missing space stations. It’s a fantastic start to a series, and I’m already looking for Book Two

I picked this up during a long flight, thinking I’d just nap, but the opening letter from “FltAdm. T.C. Barsak” caught me immediately. What a haunted feeling it must be for a retired commander to be able to say the truth after the silence of fifty years. I’m not generally a big fan of military sci-fi, but the relationship between crew members made me really care about their fate.

I’ve spent twenty years working as a mechanical technician, so I usually roll my eyes at space books where the technology feels like magic. This book was a breath of fresh air. You can tell the author actually knows how systems work. If you want a story that respects the laws of physics while keeping your heart racing, this is it.
